Our materials pledge

When something is leather, we say so. When it's vegan leather, we say that too. And when we haven't verified a material to our own standard, we don't name one at all — we describe the finish you'll actually see and feel. You'll never find "genuine leather" on a Hyde & Grain page that we can't stand behind.

What "vegan leather (PU)" means

Vegan leather is a polyurethane surface bonded to a fabric backing. It's made to look and feel like leather while staying lighter, easier to care for, and consistent from piece to piece. It doesn't age or patina the way real hide does — what you see on day one is what you keep. At our prices, it's the honest choice: the look and the daily function, without a leather markup we couldn't stand behind.

Why some pages don't name a material

A few of our products come from production runs where we haven't yet verified the material composition to our own standard. Until we have, the product page describes the surface — grain, finish, hardware — and skips the material label. We'd rather under-claim than oversell.

Care

Vegan leather (PU)

Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth; mild soap for marks.
Skip solvents, alcohol wipes, and abrasive cleaners — they dull the finish.
Let pieces dry away from direct heat, and avoid long stretches in hot sun (a parked car in July counts).
